It is third generation proactive system for reputation of senders. It gathers and analyzes information from over 10000 units all the world. TrustedSource gathers and analyzes billions e-mails per month and depending on the behaviour of every sender he recieves "virtual credits" as good, bad or suspicious. When was this sender last seen?
What is the quantity of sent e-mails by this sender?

Bayesian rules

Cross-checking of body text against a set of "tokens" or character combinations statistically proven to be common to the most recent spam messages.

Habeas® SWE

Habeas is a third-party DNS based white list of the IP addresses of Habeas bulk mail licensees. Mail senders whose messages include a special Habeas header (for example subscribed newsletters) will not be blocked, reducing false positives.


URL check

Checks the spam sender domain and URLs (hyperlinks) embedded in spam mail against Webwasher's world-class URL filter database (included in the product), providing an additional indicator as to whether the mail is spam or not. For example, mail containing links to pornographic sites is likely to be spam mail. The database that we use is world number 2 in the world by number working places (source IDC).


Anti-Virus

Every mail received on BGSPAMTRAP is consecutive scanned by 3 independent AV manufacturers (Sophos, McAfee, Computer Associates). Combining different AV manufacturers guarantees more complete list of definitions and the time for refreshing depends on the fastest manufacturer.

BGSPAMTRAP finds bad 0 day code, trojan, adware, malware, spyware ...
